1st Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange

For several years now, my mom has been hosting a Christmas Cookie Exchange each year for all the ladies I work with and several family members. We all gather together at lunch time, have soup & then share a favorite, or new, cookie recipe. Each lady that comes brings a dozen cookies so we can sample them and then copies of the recipe for everyone. It is a great time, and you can also get some great recipes from it.

This year, I've decided to host my own with about 10 of my favorite girl-friends. They come from all parts of my life, some have been friends forever, some are family, some are college friends, and some are fairly new friends from our church. Regardless, these women are all amazing women of God and I'm so excited to spend an evening with them. They have all blessed me in so many ways and I am so thankful for so many great Christian women in my life.

So...I've got my entire house decked out for the holidays (minus our Christmas tree since we get a real one it's a little early). I've got the tables set, my cookies made, and everything ready to go. I'm so excited!!! We have 3 different soup options--chili, baked potato, & cheesy chicken tortilla (my favorite). I'll be sure and post pictures of all the goodies and hopefully my Christmas decorations as well. This is my first official holiday gathering and I'm so excited to be able to open up our house and be a host!

In other news, I have been terribly awful at commenting on all of your posts. You have all shared some amazing things, and I'm sorry to say that I have completely failed to comment as I would like to. It just seems there aren't enough hours in a day (or enough hours at work to steal away some time). I have read some heart-breaking stories, some fantastic stories of other holiday gatherings, and I've seen some incredible wedding photos with some very beautiful ladies. I will certainly try and get caught up, just don't hold it against me...I'm certainly reading, I just might not be commenting!

This is such a fun party idea. I got to go to one of these parties a couple of years ago - and it was fun to take home different cookies and exchange recipes. How much fun!

I'm throwing a silly Christmas party myself this year - a Christmas-themed costume party where everyone has to either dress up or dress as something that you only see at Christmas time - like a candy cane or christmas tree or garland - anything silly like that. Any excuse to dress up and have fun!

Enjoy the yummy cookies with your friends!
