5 on Friday ~ Christmas Happenings!

It's the last week before Christmas and it's been a crazy one!  With Elyse's party last weekend and Christmas festivities all this week...the time is FLYING by!  Hubby & I talked last night and from the night before Elyse's birthday until Christmas, we have 4 free evenings with nothing planned.  Granted a lot of this is our own doing, and we are LOVING every minute of it--but it makes for a crazy Christmas season!

So...in summary, here are a few Christmas happenings that have gone on this week...

1.  We convinced Elyse to finally try on her entire snow outfit...granted we bribed her with going out to check the mail which took all of about 2 minutes--but at least we got it on her!  Now I'm just hoping that it does actually snow again this winter so our little snow bunny can be her fashionable self!

2.  Saturday evening was our annual office Christmas party.  In case you didn't realize it, Hubby & I work together in my family's insurance office so it's always an intimate fun time! And it's always a great excuse for a date night out, getting all dressed up!

 3.  On Sunday evening I had Hubby help me with a Christmas craft for Elyse...a handprint wreath on canvas.  Elyse enjoyed it until she realized her hands were all green and yucky from the paint!  ha!  I've yet to finish the project with her fingerprints for the holly berries...maybe we can get that done on Sunday when we have another free night!

4.  On Tuesday evening, Hubby, Elyse & I loaded up and headed to a unique Christmas display about 40 minutes from our home.  It's a family who has 300+ inflatables around their home with a walk path so you can walk near them!  It was definitely worth the drive.  Elyse wasn't so sure about being so close to some of them at first...but when she realized that Mickey, Minnie, & Santa were in the mix, she warmed up to them quickly!  I took some pictures, but believe it or not they are actually on my nice camera--and I haven't had a chance to upload them yet.  If you live in the SWMO area I would definitely go check it out--it's free entertainment and a fun little family excursion!

5.  And finally, this morning after about 4 rolls of wrapping paper & 6 big boxes, myself & another of our employee's dropped off some presents that our office purchased for a local family.  Instead of  buying gifts for each other we go together and adopt a family.  This year we had a mother with 5 children and we had a fun time seeing how much we could purchase from Walmart in the matter of a lunch hour!  It was a mad dash but a really fun time!  I should have snapped a picture of the huge boxes!  We wrapped up each individual gift and then placed them in a big box so each individual has a HUGE box of presents to open.  They are going to be so shocked when they open each box to realize that it's full of presents!  I've never met this family, and only have names to go on--but I only hope they experience a little bit extra Christmas joy this year!

Head on over to April's blog and check out all the other ladies who participate in this fabulous linkup!
